'Art is an active voice in shaping the world and our vision of it'

It is said that good things come in small sizes and this certainly applies to HEK (Haus der Elektronischen Künste), an Arts Foundation based in Basel, Switzerland.  With just 11 employees, and an 82-strong collection, HEK may be small but it packs a lot of punch!

On a sunny winter’s morning, I caught up over coffee with HEK’s Director of ten years and co-Curator Ms Sabine Himmelsbach. Sitting in its unique, open plan foyer, adjacent to its warm and inviting café, I discover volumes about the activities and aims of this intriguing multi-faceted venue and the woman who is the driving force behind them.   Continue
